SJVWP partners with local schools and districts to design and deliver professional development based on the needs of teachers at your school site. Our Teacher Leaders (TLs) are classroom teachers who have gone through our Invitational Summer Institute in which they learn presentation strategies and writing theory. They also revisit writing in ways that transforms them into reflective and experienced writers. We believe that this deepens their classroom writing instruction, enabling them to talk with credibility and expertise about writing with their students. The result is professional development that is designed for our specific location and students. TLs translate their expertise into practical, hands-on, standards-based workshops that are interactive, responsive, and engaging.
As an approved provider through our association with the California Subject Matter Projects, the following funds can be used to pay our fees: ESEA, Title I, II, III, V; Investing in Innovation I3; College Readiness Block Grant; LCAP funding
